Bolton Linked To Gershon

Bolton Wanderers are being linked with a pre-transfer deadline swoop for Hapoel Tel-Aviv's powerful Israeli defender Shimon Gershon according to a report in the Sunday People.

Gershon has recently been on trial with Championship side Southampton but the chance to link up with countryman Tal Ben-Haim at Bolton may prove to be too good an opportunity to miss.

The 28-year old has won 21 caps for his country and was famous for accusing current Premiership champions Chelsea of being arrogant when his side played the Blues in the UEFA Cup in 2001.

Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce is desperately short of players with four injured and four at the African Cup of Nations so adding players to the Bolton squad before Tuesday's deadline has become a neccesity.
