Double header at Waterloo on Saturday

Ladies of Plymouth Albion attempt to move top of the Premiership two league as they take on newly promoted Waterloo.

 

Ladies also travel to Waterloo!

A double header with both ladies and men's Albion teams playing two newly promoted Waterloo teams at Blundellsands.

Plymouth Albion Ladies team travel to Waterloo confident of securing their first victory in their first match of the season. The match will kick off against the newly promoted ladies team just three and a half hours before the men at 11:30am.

Tristian Foster, head coach for the team says: "It will be nice to get some match action which we have not been able to get during the pre season.

It will give some of the new players the chance to show the coaching staff what they can do on the park rather than just at training.

Going up to Waterloo, a newly promoted club, we are looking to put in a solid performance. To run the game plan that we have been developing over the summer months and come away from Waterloo with a victory!

Waterloo had a tremendous league campaign last season only losing one match in the league and with a good playoff they were the team promoted to Premiership 2.

The lessons that we learned during last season, together with the new players that have come to the club, will mean that we are better equipped than we were this time last year. 

We have six or seven new players from last season including Rachel Tucker who has been playing rugby for seven years and came over from Ireland during the summer."

With Albion v Waterloo being the first match to kick off in the enlarged Premiership Two league the winners will move top of the table. League matches are normally played on a Sunday but this match was moved to coincide with the men's match in the afternoon. The return fixture in November has also been rearranged so that both men and ladies will play on Saturday 25th.  The ladies will kick off at 11:30 and the men at 2:15.
