A good result with no pre season matches arranged. All players giving 110% to head the table for 24hours.

Waterloo 5
Plymouth Albion  Ladies 5

A close game that took both teams to the top of the Premiership Two table, at least until the remaining matches are played on Sunday.

With torrential rain and wind blowing across the pitch conditions were not easy for the first match of the new season. Albion went behind just before the end of the first half with an unconverted try by Waterloo when Lydia Morgan scored from a blind break in the 37 minute. When Sonia Clatworthy was given the opportunity to level the scores in the 66th minute she picked the ball up from a driving maul, kicked through to score on the side.

Rachel TuckerKim DavisNew Players Kim Davies and Rachel Tucker had good games giving the coaching team something to think about for the coming season. Whilst the ladies took a full squad of 22 not all players got onto the pitch but their support was appreciated. The team performance was superb with all players giving 110% commitment and no one being awarded a black tee shirt for player of the match.

Tristan Foster, Head Coach, was pleased with the team performance with no one player standing out more than any other. We have a number of new players in the squad and have not been able to arrange a pre season friendly so travelling the 300 miles to Waterloo to play a team that have only lost once in the last 18 months was a good result.

Foster said that the coaching team and senior players will asses the game on the way home ready for a match preparing week as they look forward to the Wasps game at home.  They play London Wasps II at Brickfield  next Sunday at 2:30.
