After a bad start to the season Newbury have won their last three match against Nottingham, Mosley and Pertemp Bees and will be looking to make it 4 in a row when Albion visit Monks Lane. They sit 11th in the league and remain the only team yet to pick up a bonus point.

Newbury Match Reports

Playing against Pertemp last week they were at one point behind 27 points to 3 pulling back the deficit and wining the game in injury time. Against Mosley they were 14-6 down at halftime and conceded a penalty 3 minutes into the second half but they pulled that back to win 17-22. And yes against Nottingham they were behind at half time 5-13 and they pulled that back to 19 - 18 in the last 10 minutes of the match.  In fact of the 101 points they have scored in the last 4 matches 74 of them were scored after the break!

Fly half Tim Walsh  sits in 5th place in the league for kicking points on 73 points with 2 drop goals and converting 8 of Newbury's tries. The 27 year old has played for Australia at a variety of levels and stands at 5' 9" and weighs in at 13st 5lbs joined Newbury at the beginning of this season.

Nick Defty who presumably moved from Albion due to not getting enough match time has only been on the first team pitch twice this season. He was on for the last 5 minutes of the first game of the season against Doncaster and came on four weeks ago against Nottingham in the 24th minute but I don't know if that was just a blood replacement or for the rest of the match.  He has been named for every match of the season so far.

Albion do sit 3rd in the table despite what is recorded on the official website. I think this is driven from the RFU site which has been undergoing changes over the past few weeks.

Last time Albion travelled to Monks Lane was not a good experience as Newbury came out on top 27 - 18.
