A brief round up of how the Black Cats got on with their national teams this week. In action were Edwards, Jones, McCartney, Healy, Fulop, Gordon, McShane and Ben-Haim.
Carlos Edwards and Kenwyne Jones both got a 90-minute run-out in Trinidad and Tobago's 3-0 defeat by the USA in Nashville overnight.
Edwards also played a full game in T&T's 1-1 draw at home to Honduras on Saturday, when Jones was a 60th-minute substitute.
George McCartney played the first half of Northern Ireland's 1-0 win at home to Slovenia last night.
David Healy featured for 90 minutes as NI recorded their second successive qualifying win at Windsor Park following their dramatic 3-2 win at home to Poland last Saturday, when Healy also played a full game (McCartney was suspended).
Marton Fulop played 90 minutes for Hungary as they won 3-0 at home to Malta last night - the keeper watched from the bench at the weekend as his country won 1-0 in Albania.
Craig Gordon was back in the Scotland side last night as George Burley's side beat Iceland 2-1 at Hampden Park - Gordon was an unused sub in their 3-0 defeat in Holland last weekend.
Paul McShane played 90 minutes for the Republic of Ireland in their 1-1 draw in Italy last night, as well as playing a full game in their 1-1 draw at home to Bulgaria on Saturday.
Tal Ben-Haim played 90 minutes for Israel in their 2-1 defeat against Greece in Athens - the defender also played the full game in their 1-1 draw at home to Greece on Saturday.
Teemu Tainio didn't join up with the Finnish squad due to his injury as his country beat Wales 2-0 at Cardiff on Saturday.
