England fans bag historic victory

The performance on the pitch might not have been what England fans had dreamed of, but there was a small victory to be had on Saturday. For the first time ever England fans managed a World Cup game with no arrests. It may well not be headline grabbing news, but make no mistake; For a set of fans so highly associated with trouble in past tournaments, this is a victory.

Officials in South Africa have been highly complimentary of England fans, who are said to have been highly sociable and up for friendly banter before kick off on Saturday.

Authorities at home also commended the England fans, and believe that the peace is largely as a result of a well planned strategy at home.  Enforcing banning orders and confiscating passports of known trouble makers seems to have had the desired effect so far.  Police here believe they have been successful in changing the 'nature' of England's travelling support.

lol, its a shame its true really but you are right Jem, it is a victory for England fans! maybe for once the travelling fans will leave people with a decent opinion of us!
