New Poll: Should Fabio Capello remain in charge of England?

By Jemma Tappenden

It was never going to be easy to over turn the German's in the last 16 of South Africa's World Cup, but the fashion in which it happened is arguably disappointing. Rumour of unrest within the camp, a Rooney that never got started, a midfield most England fans disagreed with and a defence who failed miserably. Is Capello to blame? And if so should he keep his position as England boss?

Have your say by participating in our online poll.  CLICK HERE to participate, and scroll down to locate the poll.

Last time we asked you whether John Terry was right to speak out about the unrest in the England camp.  Here's the results from the last poll:

Question: Should Terry Have said what he did ?
Yes 20.00%
No 60.00%
Should have remained in house 20.00%
If any one, it should have been Gerrard 0%
Number of votes: 5

I was fuming after the game, and wanted him to walk away. Having time to think, i think he should stay.

He showed faith in us by extending his contract before the finals, Yes he has made some huge mistakes, To which i think he will learn, He has been a top player and coach in other posts. Plus, the fact we are paying a lot of money, means he will get a massive pay out, just as Sven did. And what for ? to pay out yet again to somebody else ?

He has shown he cares, (unlike arms folded, Sven with no emotions ) As for Mclaren ?

well that is just my opinion, Any one agree or disagree ?

I have voted for him to stay. Mainly because I can't think of anyone right now who could do any better.

It won't look good on his CV however to be walking away with the heaviest World Cup defeat in donkey's years.

I admire his passion and enthusiasm - although if I was being paid that much I'm sure I could muster that kind of passion too, although I do genuinely believe he cares and wants to do a decent job.

He has to prove now that he has learnt from those mistakes. We all agree the Gerrard/Lampard/Barry midfield doesn't work, so is he going to grow a pair and change it?

In the long run it doesn't matter what we think, there's clearly been some degree of unrest in the England camp in South Africa, and if he's lost the dressing room then he's screwed anyway.

Unrest there may have been. But surely Players should have enough pride in them selves, to at least try. shouldn't they ?

The time to build a new side now has to be done. The likes of James, Heskey etc should be nightmares forgotten. Lamps etc 32 now and Two woefull World Cups should be replaced.
Becks got slatted after the last World cup and payed the price as Captain. He has worked his way back in through sheer hard work, something this lot are certainly lacking.

Hart, Milners, A. Jhonsons etc, Should step foward.

Enough pride? Clearly not. What difference does it make to them now? They'll slope off on holiday for a week or so then rejoin their respective clubs and crack in with it.

I don't think they know what pride is tbh

Gerrard is backing Capello to stay. Is that his honest opinion or the politics of being captain?? I wonder...

Capello... hmm.

Well touted as "the actual man who can finally do it for england, he IS the best in the world after all".

The man is a flucking muppet. The WHOLE of England were begging him, dont play Gerrard on the left, stop making a b0lox of the midfield to accomodate the players you want when it doesnt work.

He brought the wrong players with him, Heskey? Come on ffs.

He made a complete balls of the WC for ye, granted players must take blame, but he chooses which ones go out there and the formation/tactics.

Outsiders opinion : He has to go.

Personal opinion : Hope he stays :p

PMSL, Although agreed mit your obsevations.

Love the clips they are showing of Butcher on Sky. He is Right in everything he says. If Fabio goes, then so should they. They have failed to follow up on (here we go ) 66, If that was a company (as Butcher is saying ) They would have sacked the board by now.
