Warnock's Palace Join Tyson Fan Club

The Daily Red has learned that Neil Warnock’s Crystal Palace have joined a number of clubs in expressing an interest in Forest striker Nathan Tyson – but Simon Jordan’s club have already been told that the figure they expect to pay is completely unacceptable.

Palace are understood to have made an unofficial enquiry about Nathan Tyson in late December 2007, but their valuation of £975,000 is unlikely to meet the club’s expectations as they fight to keep the number nine.

Tyson, who is currently recovering from a minor injury, was signed by the Reds for around £700,000 in the 2005/06 seasons and has been frequently linked with a move away from the City Ground.

Speculation gathered pace in December after Tyson’s agent hinted to Sky Sports that a host of clubs, including Bristol City, QPR, West Brom, and Premier League Bolton, were interested in signing the player.

The news of the Palace snub will be music to the ears of Forest supporters keen to see the side strengthened and not diluted.

Chief Executive Mark Arthur had previously issued a statement dismissing all interest in stars like Kris Commons and Nathan Tyson.

He said: "We are looking to add to the squad during the January transfer window by making new signings, not to allow people to leave or be sold."  

Neil Warnock, Championship manager of the month, today told Sky Sports News that the cash demands of clubs have left him tempted to boycott the January sales altogether.

He said: "When I look at the money they’re asking for certain players I’m tempted to go with the kids through the season, to be honest."
