Man City go to 18M, but that still isn't enough for Lescott

No deal

Manchester City have been back in touch with Everton with a new £18 million bid for Joleon Lescott. And as expected, David Moyes has turned the offer down flat.

City already tried to get Lescott for £15 million earlier in the month and that was promptly turned down, but Everton were prepared for a new and improved offer.

But an additional £3 million is far from being enough for Everton with Moyes insisting that he would not be letting any influential players go.

A club statement read: "We can confirm we have received an offer of £18million for Joleon Lescott from Manchester City and that offer has been rejected outright."
