Everton manager David Moyes has shown that he is determined not to let Joleon Lescott go to Manchester City by turning down a transfer request made by the player.
City have been just as determined to get their man by making two bids of £15million and then £18 million, but both bids have been rejected.
Toffees boss Moyes has always made it clear that he is determined to keep Lescott at Goodison and despite Lescott now revealing he wants to leave, the Scot maintains that City will not get their man.
Moyes told his club's official website: "I have always said that we are not selling any players and that hasn't changed."

"This is bad news. He'll be gone in January if not before, severely weakening our squad and strengthening City's. Moyes will do well to hold on to him till Jags is fit again come November(?).
The money will be welcome at Goodison but losing a first choice central defender and LB cover is not good as Lescott is basically like a player and a half in an already small squad."

Its a rock and a hard place. I dont agree with City's tactics, but Wenger was one step ahead - I think he knew he was selling Kolo when he bought Vermaelen.
Problem for Moyes is who can he buy? Unless he can get Haangeland
