Bait?

There are reports today that Manchester City could be ready to offer Jo as bait to get their hands in Joleon Lescott.

Everton have been bracing themselves for another bid for Lescott in excess of the £18 million they have already turned down, but City are said to be reluctant to add more cash to the deal, so a player plus cash could be the answer, Everton’s Premier League rivals could offer Richard Dunne, Martin Petrov or Jo as part of the deal to get their man.

Some sections of the Everton crowd boo’d Lescott during their 6-1 defeat to Arsenal at the weekend by Arsenal and there are reports suggesting that the wh saga is unsettling the Team.

Hughes says he has sympathy with Moyes.

"This season we have been able to attract some top-level players and maybe he is fearful of the consequences as we chase a top-six place," said Hughes.

"David has made it obvious he is unhappy with the situation and how it has developed, and I can understand his frustration because no manager wants to lose his best players.

"I can well understand that but I am quite comfortable with it in terms of how we try to conduct our business and how we try to make things happen."
