Moyes happy with a job well done

David Moyes felt his Everton side put in a professional showing against Sigma Olomouc as they drew 1-1 in the second leg.

Once the Toffees had scored, there was little hope for the home side despite having Tony Hibbert dismissed just seven minutes into the clash. 

Steven Pienaar's effort shortly before half-time made certain that Everton made their way to the group stages of the competition although Pavel Sultes levelled later on in the game.

"It was a job well done," Moyes told evertonTV afterwards.

"I am pleased we got through - it was important for us. I thought we got better as the game went on.

"They put us under pressure, but thankfully we defended well enough and got one ourselves.

"Hibbert saw red for bringing down Jakub Petr, but replays have since shown that he got a toe to the ball and Moyes felt the decision was harsh on his full-back.

"It was disappointing to see Tony get sent off, and that affected us," he added.

"I thought it was a wee bit harsh; I have seen them given and seen them not.

"But in Europe, if you misplace passes you will put your defenders in trouble - and you will probably end up making rash tackles, which will be punished."
