DAVID MOYES SAYS EVERTON ARE THE FORM TEAM AT PRESENT IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE...
David Moyes has hailed Everton's patience in securing a crucial victory over Bolton.
The Blues had to wait until the 72nd minute for the opening goal in their 2-0 win over owen Coyle's side - courtesy of a sublime Mikel Arteta free-kick after Gretar Steinsson had been sent-off for a foul on Yakubu.
Steven Pienaar grabbed the second two minutes from the end of normal time to confirm the Blues' seventh consecutive home league victory - a feat not achieved for 20 years.
Birmingham's defeat at Sunderland enabled Everton to leapfrog Alex McLeish's men to move into eighth position.
Moyes was understandably delighted: "The win was deserved. We played the football and tried to make things happen. We let ourselves down in the final third after getting in good positions but, in truth, I didn't think Bolton worried us much, we had the majority of the game.
"It was a really good free kick. It was a great pass from Steven to get Yak through and it was a sending off. The boy (Steinsson) stopped him going through on goal and the referee got it right. And then Mikel did the rest."
The victory has boosted Everton's hunt for a top seven finish.
Moyes continued: "If we could win the majority of our games we will be close to the top places but we need other teams to slip up as well.
"We have gone above Birmingham, but we went above them a few weeks ago and then went behind them again.
"The job is to catch the teams above and if we keep playing the way we have been doing then we will have a chance.
"I think we are the form team in the Premier League over the last 10 or 12 games."
Everton now turn their attentions to the midweek trip to Manchester City. They are likely to be without forward Victor Anichebe, who was substituted 14 minutes into the game after a collision with Bolton's Paul Robinson.
