EVERTON BOSS DAVID MOYES THINKS MIKEL ARTETA IS ALMOST BACK TO HIS BEST AFTER RECENT GOOD PERFORMANCES FOR THE BLUES...
David Moyes believes Mikel Arteta has regained his confidence.
The Blues boss revealed he asked the Spaniard to stay away from set pieces when he first returned to the Everton side after a year on the sidelines.
But a string of excellent performances by the midfielder in recent weeks was capped by a vital trademark free kick goal in Saturday's 2-0 win over Bolton.
And Moyes believes that is testament that Arteta is well on the way to being back to his best.
"He has now scored three goals since he's been back and that is part of what he gives us. You can see him growing in confidence now," said the manager, who revealed that he thought Arteta was putting too much pressure on himself when he first came back.
"When he came back into the side I didn't want him taking the corners and free kicks," explained Moyes.
"I said to him 'stay away from it' and let him get his strength and fitness back.
"But his confidence has come back and he can feel good about taking corners and free kicks again, which is good for us because he is very good at them."
