Wednesday night was a good night on the international front for Paul McShane, Caleb Folan and Peter Halmosi. McShane was handed a place in the Republic of Ireland's starting line up for their game against Cyprus. He played the full 90 minutes at right back and impressed as his side won 1-0. Folan came on as a substitute in the same game,
although he was restricted to just one touch of the ball after replacing Kevin Doyle in the final minute of added time.Meanwhile Halmosi was also on the winning side as Hungary beat Malta
1-0. The midfielder played the full game as his side made it
back-to-back wins following their success against Albania last weekend.
The night was less successful for Sam Ricketts and Boaz Myhill as Wales lost 1-0 to Germany. Ricketts was brought on with four minutes remaining and picked up a yellow card, meaning he will be suspended for their next qualifier. Myhill watched the action from the bench.
Finally, Richard Garcia had a mixed evening. He was left out of Australia's squad but saw his country ease to a 4-0 win against Qatar.
