QPR have bid for folan rejected

Hull City have rejected an approach from Championship side QPR to take striker Caleb Folan on loan with a view to a permanent deal. Tigers manager Phil Brown told BBC Radio Humberside: "They're interested in a quality striker which he is. "But he's a quality Premier League striker and an international. Caleb has been a definite threat for us.

"Unless they were talking absolutely ridiculous money we are not a selling club," Brown added.

Folan join Hull from Wigan for 1 million in January and was a key figure in the promotion run in last season

He has not started a game this season but has come off the bench on a regular basis and scored the late goal that gave the Tigers an opening day victory over Fulham at the KC Stadium in their first ever Premier League game.

With Marlon King struggling with an injury, Brown says Folan is very much in his thoughts.

"If there's a threat to Marlon King's back then there's a possibility that he could be in a starting position so it would be remiss of me to let a player go out on loan to the Championship."
