Michael Turner has been tipped for England

Dean Marney has tipped Team Mate Michael Turner to break into the England Team. Turner signed for the Tigers in 2006 after impressing then boss Phil Parkinson. After a slightly disappointing start to the 2006–07 season, Turner's form significantly improved, and finished the season as one of the club's successes of the year.

He has now embedded himself firmly at the heart of central defence, and was voted Hull City's Player Of The Season in their promotion-winning 2007–08 season. His good form was rewarded, as he signed a new three-year deal with Hull in April 2008.

Turner now 24 could beon the verge of a somewhat surprise call up to the national squad.

"On present form he's got to be up there with the best centre-halves around. Not only is he scoring goals but it's his all-round performances," Marney told the Hull Daily Mail.

"I'm sure if he keeps going the way he is then there's going to be a lot of people taking a lot of notice of him," added Marney. "It's unbelievable. He just keeps getting better and better with every game."
