Windass not joining leeds

The persistent rumours that Dean Windass is on his way to Leeds have been quashed by Leeds Manager Gary McAllister. Oldham and Doncaster have now admitted their interest in the veteran striker. McAllister BBC Leeds "Dean is a good pal of mine and I've known him for years,If we strengthen, then it'll be in other areas of the park."
"He was playing in a behind-closed-doors game at Thorp Arch and the following day he was in watching his son, so we've seen him quite a bit in the last week or so," said McAllister.

Elsewhere Oldham manager John Sheridan said
"I've asked for Dean on loan - we'll see what happens,"
"I've also made enquiries for one or two others playing at a higher level and will be taking that further this week." "Dean played against us in a recent behind-closed-doors friendly," said O'Driscoll in the Sheffield Star. "He's
intimated on various occasions that he likes the way we play. We made
enquiries about Dean, but I think that there would be various clubs
interested in him if he were to become available. "He is not
going to go to another Premier Division club, so I imagine if he did go
out on loan it would be to a Championship or League One club. If I can
find someone, and we can afford them, then I will bring them in. But it
is not like playing Championship Manager on the computer. "We are one of those clubs who are in a financial band that means if you step outside of it you are into mega, mega money. "So quality players that you need are few and far between, allied to the finance that you can afford."
Doncaster are also in the running to sign Windass
Windass has already rejected the offers from Oldham and Doncaster according to the players blog on the ITV website.
