Marney set to become Century man

Dean Marney is determined to celebrate his 100th Hull City appearance by helping his side maintain their fantastic away form against Stoke this weekend. Marney joined from Tottenham in 2006 after making only 8 1st team appearances scoring 2 goals. he will be remember by many Spurs fans for scoring a 25 yard curler in a 5-2 win Against Everton

Since that move he has made 99 appearences for Hull and on the eve of making this 100th appearence for the club he told the Official site.

"I've been told it's my 100th appearance and obviously it's nice to reach that figure," said Marney.

"It's even better that I'm reaching that figure with Hull City in the Premier League, but that is why I signed because I believed it was possible.

"I knew that it was a massive club and although my first season here was disappointing, the second was massively enjoyable.

"To win promotion and be in the Premier League was what I wanted to happen. I remember saying in pre-season that I felt we could surprise a few people and I knew the players the gaffer had brought in would take us up a level.

"We've done that, but we're only a short way into the season and we know we have to keep going to maintain it."
