Phil Brown has been left Fuming After 5-1 Boxing day defeat to Manchester City. Brown criticised the attitude of his players and said the Club's travelling fans deserved an apology after witnessing the worst performance of the season. The defeat came just days after losing 4-1 at home to Sunderland ""The mentality of the players wasn't right," said Brown.
"Three or four of their goals came from us having good possession with no pressure on us. We need to get back to playing ugly. We tried playing pretty football against Manchester City, but we need to be ugly Hull City.
"One or two home truths have been said in the dressing room. I don't think one player could have cause for complaint if they are left out against Aston Villa on Tuesday."
Such was Brown's frustration with the Tigers' first half performance, he conducted part of his half tme team-talk in front of the travelling fans.
"Let's not read too much into that, but I felt the fans needed some sort of explanation," added Brown.
"The first half performance wasn't acceptable and I;m sure the fans realised that. I wasn't being clever, but the fans needed to see that something was being done about it. We restored a little bit of pride in the second half, but it was too late."
to the players i say, dont you think been a fan and you playing like that was humilating for us!!!!!
