Tigers Tame The Lions. Match Report

January 25 2009
The Tigers made it through to the 5th round of the F,A Cup for the first time in 20yrs. This match will be rememered for all the wrong reasons after events of the pitch caused by a few mindless idiots from the visiting support. But we will gloss over that and try and concentrate on a good hard fought win for Hull against Millwall.
The tigers tamed the Lions in this quite dull encounter, Turner scored the first for Hull on 15mins after an in swung free kick and quick scramble in the box resulted in a simple tap in. Millwall had a good chance after a shocking blunder by the Hull keeper. He was forced to pick up a back pass and this resulted in an in-direct free kick. Luckily Lewis Grabben shot wide to save the blushes. Towards the end of the half Dawson picked up a head injury but luckily was able to continue.
The game then became even worse from a spectators point of view with few chances falling to either side. Manucho and Marney both had chances for the home side but they were poor efforts. Up step the Hull skipper and finally towards the end a brilliant strike from 20rds, Ashbee finally put this poor tie to bed.
The final whistle brought about the arrival of mounted police onto the pitch, a sight many would not expect to see a Hull, very upsetting for such a friendly club.
