Hull agree defender deal

By Tiger Tim
January 30 2009

Hull have agreed to pay €2million (£1.8million) for defender Steven Mouyokolo. Mouyokolo will stay with Boulogne until the end of the season. A Boulogne club statement read: “USBCO president and direction have taken the decision of accepting Hull City’s transfer offer for Steven Mouyokolo.“The transfer will be official by July 1 of 2009.

“Regarding the club’s aims for the end of the season, the player will stay until June 30.”

"There is a time when we can no longer block the progress of a player," said president Jacques Wattez.

"If Hull had not accepted our request, it wouldn't have happened. But we need to consider the future of our club.

"Of course we lose a good player, but his departure will enhance us.

"We could have waited until the end of the season, but sport is not immune from injury, in this case there would then have been no transfer."
