Tigers Can Claw Their Way To survival Boateng

Midfielder George Boateng Believes Hull can survive if they show the commitment they showed against Sunderland in their remaining games. "They (other teams) may have more technical players who they hope will turn the screw, but with five games to go and when you are three points away from relegation that is out of the window," said Boateng.

"You need a performance like Saturday and Sunderland know it was nail-biting stuff and if the clock had ticked a few minutes longer we might have got the goal.

"What pleased me is that what I saw on Saturday reminds me of earlier in the season.

"That is how we were playing. Everyone was fighting for the cause and that was pleasing.

"It is a shame it was an offside goal because we played to that all week in training on getting out and he came from an offside position.

"But you have to ride your luck and the luck went against us. That's what happens.

"Your luck is not in quality now but in the work-rate and the commitment and how badly you want it."

Boateng came the closest to an equaliser for The Tigers and he still believe he didn't score.

"My only regret is I didn't score. Even at my age, every time I close my eyes I will go through it because it was a goal I should have scored.

"I think I hit it too well. It was the right height, right pace, I kept it low and it was five or six inches away.

"The keeper never moved because it was too fast for him. Because I knew I didn't have a lot of time, people were coming at me so I had to keep it hard and low and get the angle right. I still close my eyes and think `what if?"
