Striker Caleb Folan feels he wasted the opportunity to claim a regular starting place after he was sent off against Liverpool at the weekend. Folan who was starting only his second game of the season was sent off for lashing out a skrtel . The striker could now miss 3 of the 4 remaining games as Hull try to survive in the premiership.
"It does feel a bit like a wasted opportunity," said Folan.
"It was a great game to come back into and I'm gutted that I've let myself down. Potentially, I'm going to miss three very important games.
"I was trying to get past the defender, but he got in front of me and was trying to obstruct me. He was holding me and I was using my arms to try and get round him.
"I don't know if the referee pulled me for the use of my arm of my foot towards the end, but I didn't intentionally swing out with my arms or my foot.
"I thought he made the most of it. I didn't feel as though I'd made contact with him, but the referee wouldn't explain what the card was for.
"I did swing my leg, but it wasn't aimed at him (Skrtel). The referee didn't take it like that."
