Folan And Kilbane Get ROI Call Ups

Kevin Kilbane and Caleb Folan have been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for the friendly against Nigeria. Giovanni Trapattoni has named a 25-man squad for the game which takes place at Fulham's Craven Cottage next week. 22 of those players will then be retained for the World Cup Qualifier against Bulgaria on Saturday 6th June.


Speaking about Folan, Trapattoni said: "I know what (Caleb) Folan can do. He has already played two games for us, the last one against Italy in Bari. "I like his mentality and he fits into our system. He is big and can hold the ball up, which is very important in international football."

Both players will be hoping to impress enough to remain in the final 22
