Midfielder Veteran Signs New Deal

Midfield Veteran Nick Barmby has signed a new 1 year deal with the club. Barmby has played 24 times for the club this season and scored 2 goals. Barmby joined his hometown team on a free transfer in 2004 from Leeds. he will remain at the club until June 2010.

"We have sorted out another year, which I am well pleased about. The manager and the chairman have been great to me," said Barmby.

Barmby has played a part in two successful promotion pushes and Brown said his dedication to the club has earned him an extension to his present deal.

"He has done enough for me in the last couple of years to command another year and I am delighted Nicky has decided to exercise that," said Brown.

"He was almost carried off the pitch at Bolton last week. He put his all in and we need a little bit more of that on Sunday."
