After missing out on several strikers this summer and a deal for Bobby Zamora still to be completed Phil Brown is rumoured to be weighting up a loan move for Manchester City Striker Benjani Mwaruwari. Benjani signed For City from Portsmouth for around £4 Million which could rise to £7.8 million if he makes 75 appearances for the club.

Benjani only made 21 appearances for City last season scoring 4 goals  and following the high profile arrivals of Tevez, Santa Cruz and Adebayor for a combined fee of £68 million it is unlikely Benjani will feature much if at all this season .

However, Portsmouth are also said to be in the hunt for their former attacker, who may favour a move back to the south coast where he was a fans' favourite during his 2006-2008 spell at Fratton Park where he scored 19 goals in 70 appearences .
