Dyer relishing MK return

Former Dons winger Lloyd Dyer says his first return to Milton Keynes since leaving the club for Leicester City in the summer will be "special" to him, and admits he still looks for the Dons' results as he reflects on two successful years in MK.

Always a favourite during his time at the Dons, Lloyd left the club upon the end of his contract last summer with Pete Winkelman unable to match the bumper three-year contract offered to him to make the switch to Leicester. But he told the club's official website that he still keeps in touch with several Dons players, and will always have a place in his heart for the team that really gave him his break as a professional footballer.

He said: "I've been waiting for this game all season, ever since the fixtures came out I was checking to see when this one was.

"During the two years I was at MK Dons I met some great people, some great players and got on really well with all the staff and the fans. I still keep in contact with a lot of them so it will be special for me to come back on Saturday.

"I was talking to one of the lads from MK on the phone while I was on my way in to training with Matty Fryatt the other day. Matty couldn't believe it because normally people move on and you carry on speaking to maybe one or two people, but I still speak to most of the team!"

And while he will be concentrating on helping the Foxes secure what looks like a very likely league title, he hopes the Dons join them in the Championship.

"I've been really impressed with how well they've done this season, I'm buzzing for them to be fair.

"Ideally, I'd like Leicester to go up as Champions and MK to come up with them in second.

"I've been looking out for their results ever since I left, not because they're up there chasing us but because I had good times there and I want the club to do well."

Probably due to a disappointing reception from what I'd like to call a minority at the Walkers Stadium on opening day, Lloyd is unsure of the reaction he'll get from the Dons fans, but maintains it won't change his feelings for the club.

"It could go either way for me with the crowd. They might boo me, but that's football, that's what fans do to try and put you off your game and I understand that.

"But it won't change the way I feel about MK Dons - I had two fantastic years there."
