Preview: Huddersfield Town (H)

Dons are without captain Dean Lewington for Huddersfield's visit to stadium:mk, but welcome back Jason Puncheon from suspension. Huddersfield have doubts over winger Anthony Pilkington while ex-Don Malvin Kamara sits out through injury.

Left-back Lewington serves a one-match suspension after being sent off against Swindon Town on Saturday for two bookable offences. Stepping in at left-back could be any one of Carl Regan, Shaun Cummings or Jude Stirling, but if Miguel Llera, who remains a doubt with a foot injury, is not fit, expect all three to feature in the Dons back four, alongside captain for the night Sean O'Hanlon.

Jason Puncheon returns to the Dons side after sitting out Saturday's match due to suspension, and that gives manager Roberto Di Matteo some interesting selection decisions in midfield, as he should have full numbers to choose from. Peter Leven and Alan Navarro should start in the centre, with either Luke Chadwick and Jemal Johnson out wide and Puncheon behind Aaron Wilbraham or Wilbraham partnered with Sam Baldock, and one of Chadwick, Johnson and Puncheon dropping to the bench. While Baldock has struggled for goals 4-4-2 seems to be more of a winning formula at home, so it's a nice problem for Roberto to face tonight. Johnson has missed some training this week but should be fine and fit for selection.

Out for the Dons long-term is Danny Swailes, while Tore Andre Flo remains sidelined.

Huddersfield are definitely without former Don Kamara, as well as midfielder Jim Goodwin and defender Nathan Clarke. Highly-rated winger Pilkington is a worry, as is striker Danny Cadamarteri. 

The opposite of the Dons, Huddersfield have been home specialists since Lee Clark took over as manager. Their first home loss under Clark came courtesy of a last minute 1-2 loss against Millwall on Saturday but they haven't won away since early December, and are currently on a run of four games without a victory. They certainly have the squad to trouble any team on their day though, with big money spent on Pilkington, Gary Roberts, Ian Craney and Lionel Ainsworth, among others.

The two sides have met once this season, at Huddersfield's Galpharm Stadium where the Dons set the standard for some superb away wins over the course of the season, coming away with a 3-1 victory after goals from Stirling, Leven and Baldock, before Roberts netted a consolation for the Terriers.

Prior to this season the sides last met in 2005/06 in League One. Dons rescued a point thanks to Nicky Rizzo and Izale McLeod's late goals in a 2-2 draw at the National Hockey Stadium, before Huddersfield smashed the Dons 5-0 in the reverse fixture. Before that, in 2004/05, Huddersfield won 3-1 at the Galpharm before McLeod and Clive Platt goals gave Dons a 2-1 victory at the Hockey Stadium.

No Dons have featured for Huddersfield but as already mentioned, if not injured winger Malvin Kamara might have made his return to Milton Keynes tonight. The Sierra Leone international made 48 appearances for Milton Keynes, scoring three goals, before leaving for Cardiff City.

The referee for tonight's fixture will be Mr S D Cook. This season is Mr Cook's second on the Football League, and he has taken charge of two Dons games, both last season; the 1-0 home victory over Mansfield and the 0-2 home loss to Stockport, with, ominously, the same Anthony Pilkington scoring the second goal. He will be assisted by Mr R Beevor and Mr S M Hutchinson, and the fourth official will be Mr G C Law.
