Preview: Yeovil Town (A)

With Saturday's sides at Huish Park both needing points for different reasons, Dons' visit to Yeovil promises to be an intense affair. Dons will give a late fitness test to Sam Baldock but otherwise have no fresh injury concerns.

Baldock sat out Tuesday night's 0-1 loss to Millwall with a hamstring problem and while he has a chance of starting on Saturday, Dons manager Roberto Di Matteo says he will not risk playing the 20-year old and losing him for a longer period. Danny Swailes (achilles) did some light training this week as he gets closer to a return from an injury that has ruled him out for nearly the entire season but is unlikely to return for more than one or two matches this season at best. Tore Andre Flo is sidelined with a calf injury.

Yeovil have had a busy week on the transfer front as the loan deadline nears. Goalkeeper Chris Weale, who followed former manager Gary Johnson to Bristol City after Yeovil's rise from 108 years of non-league football, returns on a month's loan. Also joining are Tottenham Hotspur youngsters Jonathan Obika and Andros Townsend, the former of whom has recently impressed in the Uefa Cup, and scored 14 goals in 26 games for Spurs' reserve side.

Dons go into the game on the back of some mixed form; they have turned in three good performances in three home fixtures in seven days, but picked up only four points out of a possible nine. They now need to win both of their games in hand to regain second place ahead of Peterborough United.

It was against Peterborough that Yeovil got their last win, a 3-1 victory at London Road. That was their fourth straight victory at the time but a day later manager Russell Slade was sacked for an internal offence. Since then, Yeovil have not won in seven matches, six of which have been under new player-manager Terry Skiverton. They lost to Slade's new club Brighton 0-5 last Saturday, and that came after a 0-4 loss to Leeds.

Dons entertained Yeovil at stadium:mk earlier this season and cruised to a 3-0 win courtesy of goals from Peter Leven (2) and Baldock. Before that the two sides had met just twice, both in the 2005/06 season; Izale McLeod cancelled out Skiverton's opener at the National Hockey Stadium to earn Dons a point, before another 1-1 draw at Huish Park, Ben Harding with a last gasp equaliser after Kevin Gall had given Yeovil the lead.

There are no players in the current Dons squad who have featured for Yeovil, and also no ex-Dons in the Glovers' squad.

The referee for Saturday's fixture will be Mr C Sarginson. This is Mr Sarginson's first season as a Football League referee and he took charge of our 2-0 home victory against Southend United earlier in the season. He will be assisted by Mr A P Bennett and Mr A Rodda. The fourth official will be Mr W Bull.
