Bristol Rovers have appointed their new head coach after a short search following Matt Taylors sacking.
Bristol Rovers have appointed Iñigo Calderón as their new head coach on a two-and-a-half-year deal, announced on December 26, 2024.
Calderón, a former Brighton & Hove Albion defender, brings a wealth of experience from his playing career and recent coaching roles. He previously managed Brighton's under-18 team, demonstrating a commitment to developing young talent.
Upon his appointment, Calderón expressed his vision for Bristol Rovers, emphasizing a desire for the team to play with passion and adopt a proactive approach on the field.
Calderón's coaching team includes assistant head coach Kevin Bond and first-team coach David Horseman, both bringing valuable experience to support the club's ambitions.
The appointment follows the departure of former manager Matt Taylor, who was relieved of his duties on December 16, 2024, after a series of challenging results.
Calderón's immediate focus will be on improving the team's performance in League One, where Bristol Rovers currently sit 20th in the table.
