Match Preview: Bristol Rovers v. Yeovil Town

Yeovil hope to amend Tuesday nights defeat to Crystal Palace with a victory over "local-ish" rivals Bristol Rovers.

It has been a difficult week for both clubs, for contrasting reasons. Yeovil have mourned the loss of former player Adam Stansfield, who lost his battle with cancer, whilst Rovers suffered a 6-1 hammering at the hands of Oxford, leaving Paul Trollope walking the managerial tight-rope.

Trollope described their performance as "unacceptable", probably meaning goalkeeper Mikkel Andersen and Danny Coles will return to the starting line-up. 

Meanwhile, Glovers player Andy Williams returns to his former club, where he snubbed a new deal at Rovers to receive more game time at Yeovil. The winger celebrates his 24th birthday on the same day, and will be sure to receive a mixed reception.  

Also, midfielder Rob Kiernan returns from Republic of Ireland Under-21's duty, whilst Manchester United loanee Cameron Stewart should have recovered from a bought of tonsillitius.

Last season the Glovers pulled of a stunning 2-1 victory at the memorial ground, with John Obika grabbing one goal whilst Terrell Forbes bagged his only ever Yeovil Town goal.  

However, the return game saw Yeovil lose 3-0, with 'keeper Alex McCarthy making a howler to allow Jo Kuffour to tap in, before he grabbed a second and Paul heffernan rounded off a 3-0 victory.
