Skiverton: A Tribute To Stanno

Yeovil gaffer Terry Skiverton has paid tribute to 'family man' Adam Stansfield.

Terry will be amongst several club representatives attending Adam's funeral, and speaking to the Western Gazette paid tribute to the striker:

"I did not really sleep, to be honest with you. I did not get to sleep until 4am in the morning, just thinking and going over some of the memories, what a nice lad he was, and what a good family unit he had. Adam was a really lovely family man. He had a lovely wife and three kids. He was someone who did everything for his family. They were always going off and doing things together. My condolences go out to the family, (wife) Marie and the children. I am missing a good friend, and I wish his family all the best for the future. And if there is anything that we can do at Yeovil Town, we will be bend over backwards to help." 

Skiverton also said who he knew Stansfield would make the grade when he joined the Glovers despite his unknown status:

"I remember when he came in everyone was thinking 'wow, who is this boy?' Normally when you get people from that standard they are either a good finisher or someone who is quick but not a good finisher, and like a rough diamond you have to mould them. But with Adam you had a mixture of the two - he was very fast and could finish the ball when it was sent over the top."
