Yeovil Town's new loan signing Adam Phillip has told of how ex-Glover Paul Terry and Chelsea captain John Terry persuaded him to join the Green and Whites.
The 19-year-old joined Yeovil on a months loan this Monday from Premiership leaders Chelsea, and admitted the Terry brothers persuaded him to make the move to Somerset.
Paul Terry is currently contracted to Darlington but injury has ruled him out for the season, meaning he is now acting as physio at Chelsea's Cobham training ground.
Despite Phillip being the first Chelsea player to arrive in Yeovil since Liam Bridcutt back in 2008, Yeovil possess a connection with the Blues with manager Terry Skiverton and coach Darren Way becoming friends with ex-England captain John Terry during his occasional visits to watch Paul Terry in action.
Speaking of their influence Phillip said:
"Paul is doing physio at (Chelsea's training ground) Cobham at the moment. Both he and John Terry told me Yeovil was a good club to come to so I took their advice."
Looking forward to the game this Saturday and his immediate reaction to his now team-mates Adam said:
"No, it's not bad at all. I'm looking for more goals down here, and we'll see what happens after the month. Last week after a Reserve game, they said that they'd like me to come down for a month and obviously I jumped at the opportunity to come down to a great club like Yeovil. So I'm just looking to get some games under my belt now. It's really welcoming club and I've enjoyed my first day here. We had training and all the boys were nice with a good standard of football. So I'm just looking forward to playing some football now."
