Proud Skiverton Pays Homage to Hillsborough Heroes

Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton has paid tribute to his sides effort in yesterday evenings game against Sheffield Wednesday, in which the Glovers played for fifteen minutes with nine men.

Speaking to BBC Radio Somerset Skiverton compared Stephen Henderson's performance to that of England legend Gordon Banks, stating:

"Of course I'm going to be a little bit biased, but I thought the Yeovil team you saw were all heroes - you saw heroes tonight. The way they threw themselves - I think you've seen tonight one of the best goalkeeping displays here for a long time. He pulled three or four Banksy (Gordon Banks) saves off. I'm looking at him and he's arching his back, he's coming and taking catches, he's doing last ditch saves. He was brave and got a ball in the face that ended up getting their goal."

Speaking of the performance overall Skiverton had nothing but praise for his side:

"The way that they performed tonight, that made me feel proud of what I do with my coaching staff and the way that we handle ourselves. They've shown me something tonight, and they've got me so excited about this league and the fight that they are doing. We've come to Sheffield Wednesday tonight, and we gave them more than a game. In the second half it was backs to the walls, with us down to nine men. We were picking formations that I've never even heard of! We were playing wingers as right-backs and bringing on centre-halves that give away penalties, and then they missed the penalty."
