Wotton Signs on!

Midfielder Paul Wotton has extended his stay in Somerset, not with a loan, but a permanent move from Southampton. 

Wotton has been on loan to the Glovers for a month in which he has become an important part of the team, something sure to have influenced Terry Skiverton in searching to extend his stay in Somerset.

As rumours suggested, the move has been made permanently, with the thirty three year old signing a 18 month contract with the Glovers. 

You may be wondering how much was paid for Wotton, but the veteran terminated his contract with Saints to allow him to join on a free transfer, making what otherwise may have been an impossible deal, possible. 

Speaking to BBC Radio Somerset Wotton has stated that he has no fear taking on a 'leadership' role:

"That goes with the territory of being an older pro, I suppose. Although for me, I've always been that type of player anyway. Even when I was starting out on my career at 17 or 18, I was exactly as vocal out on the pitch as I am now. So it's nothing that's different from what I've done throughout my career."
