Well take on Kilmarnock on Monday night

Motherwell will hopefully return to action tomorrow night when they take on Kilmarnock on the SPL in front of the Setanta cameras on Monday night. With the Hearts game being off last week the pressure is on to take three points and move away from ICT and Accies.

Our recent run of one point from five games has seen us drop to 10th only three points ahead of the Accies and if we have any real ambition to do well this season we need to halt this and start winning again.

Reading the Sunday papers there is plenty of coverage about us punching above our weight and over achieving last season. While that is probably fair to say the coverage seems to neglect to mention we didn't capitalise on this in the summer and add to the squad.

This is now coming back to bite us with Craigan injured and Quinn suspended we are once again have to field a re-shuffled defence and this has hurt us in recent weeks.

In midfield we have never replaced Phil O'Donnell and ever since his untimely death the midfield has been unbalanced and has never looked comfortable. The midfield has also failed to chip in with any goals this season.

Up front Porter and Clarkson have come no where near the heights of last season and this has put pressure on new signing John Sutton and youngster Jamie Murphy to come up with goals.

Hopefully our run of games coming up against Killie, Accies, ICT and St. Mirren can see us push up the table and challenge at least for a top six place.
