Cup tie off

Motherwell's second attempt to get their Fourth Round Scottish Cup tie with Inverurie played has fallen foul of the cold weather once again with tomorrow night's tie being called off.

We were initially informed that the inspection of the pitch would take place tomorrow morning at 9am, but there was then a surprise announcement this afternoon that the game had been called off.

I find this all a bit baffling given that the weather charts have shown day time temperatures of 5 degrees in the North East and that Locos played at home on Saturday!

For the first game there did at least seem to be a bit of effort to get the game on, as Inverurie took advantage of Aberdeen's pitch covers but there seems to have been little attempt to do that this time.

This now leaves Motherwell fans scrambling for time off on Monday for the next attempt to play it BUT if they couldn't get it on tonight I would be shocked if we see the game go ahead on Monday.

My plea is now for the clubs and the SFA to move the game to Pittodrie next Wednesday.....
