Motherwell beat Euro rivals Dundee Utd to keep in the hunt for a European place next season.

Motherwell won one of the best games I have seen in the SPL this season with both teams being prepared to have a go at each other and desperately try to win the game.

There were chances in the opening ten minutes with Sutton firing wide for Well from 20 yards, and Lee Wilkie heading over from close range for United. The opening goal came for Well in 26 minutes when an O'Brien cross was turned past Zaluska from close range by Sutton.

It should've been two by half time when Sheridan was sent clear by Hughes only to his shot cleared off the line by Garry Kenneth after it looked as though it had held up on the turf.

United made two changes at the break and Sandaza made a difference after only five minutes as he scored from close range after our defence had once again failed to deal with a corner swung into the six yard box.

Smith then made two great saves to keep Well in it before the winner came in controversial circumstances. Klimpl looked ot have hauled down Swanson in the box (it looked a stone waller to me) but Ref Brines wave play on!

Play switched to the other end and O'Brien's cross was headed home by Clarkson at the second attempt.

In the end it was a great three points, although the down side was another booking for Klmipl who seems to get booked every week, and he will be missing from the Kilie game next week.
