It would appear the search for a new Motherwell manager is almost over with the final candidate being interviewed today at Fir Park.

With Lawrie Sanchez and Steve Staunton completing their interviews earlier in the week it was the turn of former Watford Boss Aidy Boothroyd to be interogated yesterday.

Today it is the turn of Jim Gannon, formerly of Stockport County, to well his wares to John Boyle.

Earlier in the week it was rumoured that former Sunderland boss Malolm Crosbie was interested in the job but it appears after a telephone interview his personal terms were over the odds.

It now seems to be a four horse race, with Steve Staunton very interested in the job as he has been on the phone on a number of occassions chasing things up!!

Hopefully we will have a new manager by early next week ahead of the first tie with Llanelli on Thursday.

No matter who it is, he will have a tough job rebuilding the side ahead of the season. Although you could argue he will have a free rein to put his own mark on the side.
