Well lose in Albania

Motherwell lost narrowly to Flamurtari of Albania this afternoon in the Europa League 2nd Qualifying round.

Hard to say much about the game given I was still at work when the bulk of it was being played!! This in itslef raises a point that BBC Scotland didn't cover the game on the Radio or TV!!

Motherwell did have the ball in the net in the second half when John Sutton converted a penalty but the ref decided there was some encroachment and the kick was retaken and this time the keeper saved it.

They were punished not long after when the home side took the lead, Emir Strati firing in from just outside the area to the bottom left corner of the goal.

Well did create some chances after that but were always velnerable on the break.

I had hoped before the game that the game would still be alive ahead of next Thursday's return leg at Airdrie and I believe it still is.

I did see the last 15 minutes on the internet and believe we have the players to take the team through to the next round.
