Did McGhee deserve the criticism

Motherwell fans have made the papers this morning after their reaction to Mark McGhee at Pittodrie yesterday, did he deserve the abuse?

As I travelled North yesterday I was thinking why the Motherwell fans were preparing to give Mark McGhee a hard time at Pittodrie.

I know they feel he constantly was trying to move himself on while at Motherwell, but having said that he knocked back two jobs (that we know about) staying on at Motherwell rather than moving to Scotland or Hearts.

Therefore I am not sure there was a real lack of loyalty there!!

He was also accused of leaving us because of the way he had got rid of all the best talent. I think this is a positive as he allowed Jim Gannon the opportunity to build his own squad rather than peple who didn't want to be there.

On the positive side he took us to third in the table and handled the Phil O'Donnell situation with great dignity.

I can just about, therefore, understand the need to give a former manager a hard time but I think some of the songs went over the score yesterday.

Let's hope by the time whe comes to Fir Park we have moved on and we can concentrate on the football.
