Motherwell mainained their unbeaten start to the season with a fine 1-0 win over Dundee Utd at Tannadice
The first half of the game saw both sides involved in a tactical battle which in the end saw the sides cancel each other out and provide a game that was awful to watch.
The first excitement came after about 30 minutes when Goodwillie headed a Cadamartari cross just wide when he should at least have hit the target. Then at the other end Lukas Jutkiewiecz, just on for Jennings, took one touch to control before spinning and sending a shot that looked goal bound until Weaver made a stunning save in the top corner.
Things weren't much better after the break and it took until the 66th minute before we broke the deadlock. Dillon's poor clearance was pounced on by Jim O'Brien and he left Dods in his wake before Dillon's clumbsy challenge pulled him down for a stonewall penalty.
This week Ross Forbes was still on the field and he stepped up to take the kick and scored into the bottom left corner even though Weaver had guessed correctly.
Keeper John Ruddy was the saviour only five minutes later when he pulled off a stunning triple save to deny Dods, Goodwillie and Webster from close range when it looked as though each one had a tap in.
Well survived a late aerial onslaught to keep their unbeaten start going.
One final point, it would be wrong not to mention the over fussy refereeing of the ref Somers. He didn't let the game flow and was over fussy throughout.
