Motherwell fought bravely to hold Celtic at Celtic Park this afternoon in a nil nil draw.

Motherwell started the game well forcing the first four corners of the match and from the first after ony four minutes Steven Saunders was unlucky to see his header scrape over the bar.

Motherwell dominated possession for the bulk of the first half without ever really looking like scoring while Celtic only looked dangerous on the break.

Jim Gannon wanted to silence the Celtic crowd, he was successful at this and by half time they had turned against their side which was a moral victory for Gannon's side.

Well started the second half well and Jutkiewicz saw a long range effort turned round the post by Boruc. He had another effort deflected for a corner minutes later as did Ross Forbes.

After 73 minutes Jim Gannon showed faith in a another youngster with Jordan Halsman given his debut at 18 years old wide on the left replacing Chris Humphrey.

The last 20 minutes saw Celtic dominate as we appeared to tire, but it was only stoppage time that Celtic came close when McDonald and McGeady headed over from close range.

In the end it was a great point for Motherwell as they continue their excellent start to the season, only having lost 1 in the first 8 games in the League, with five shut outs.

On a side note I see the crowd was listed as 58000, although it looked as though there was lucky to be 40000 in the ground - how do they get away with this!!
