Motherwell Legends

A new book celebrating many of the legendary figures who have played for Motherwell throughout it's history will be available from Monday 16th November

The book is the second effort from Graham Barnstaple who follows up ’Well Again (written alongside Keith Brown) with Motherwell Legends, due out on Monday, November 16, from Yore Publications.

This limited edition hardback book celebrates the players who have made an
impact on Motherwell FC and its history, or made an impact on the author,
who is a lifelong fan.

Players featured in the quality book range from George Robertson, who
represented Scotland back in 1910, up to current captain Stephen Craigan,
who is the club’s most capped player.

It also covers the ‘halcyon’ days of the club from the League Champions of
1931/32, Cup winners of the 1950s and the ‘Ancell Babes’ through to Tommy
McLean’s 1991 Scottish Cup winners, and many others in between.

The author, Graham Barnstaple, has been a Motherwell fan for as long as he
can remember, attending his first game back in 1963.

Since then he has travelled the length and breadth of the country following
the ’Well first as a fan, and now covering games for the Hamilton Advertiser and Local Radio Station, Lanarkshire's L107.

Graham said: “My own favourite legend in the time I’ve been following
Motherwell is Joe Wark, a player who always gave 100 per cent for the cause
and is widely recognised as one of the best left-backs Scotland has ever
produced.

“Being a book about legends though, I’m sure other people will have their
own favourite and it will hopefully stimulate debate amongst supporters.”

Featuring over 80 stars of the past and present, Motherwell Legends is due
out on Monday, November 16, priced at £16.95 and is available from the
official club shop in the Davie Cooper Stand at Fir Park.
