Five games in a row without losing a goal

Craig Brown's Motherwell made it five League games unbeaten without losing a goal with a 1-0 win over their Lanarkshire rivals Hamilton this afternoon.

Motherwell consolidated their place in fifth with this win this afternoon thanks to a second half goal from Lukas Jutkiewicz.

There was little to redeem the game with little quality on show, although it was competitive enough as Accies scrapped for every ball to close the game down and spoil and frustrate at every opportunity.

The first 45 minutes were appalling with little to talk about apart from a number of long range efforts that barely troubled the goalies at either end.

The goal finally came in 68 minutes when a Tom Hateley corner was headed on by Sutton to Jutkiewicz who bundled the ball home from close range despite the clost attention of a couple of Accies defenders.

We were then "treated" to one of the shortest appearances in SPL history when Marc Fitzpatrick came on as a sub in the 75th minute. He then pulled a hamstring four minutes later and was replaced by Steven Saunders.

Hamiltn piled bodies forward but did not have enough quality to trouble the Well defence.
