The Official Motherwell site has confirmed the signing of the Airdrie Keeper Lee Hollis and includes a statment hinting that Michael Fraser is on the way out.

Lee Hollis has signed as a free agent, being freed like the rest of his Airdrie team mates, for one year.

Hollis has been at Airdrie since he was a school boy, and by the age of 24 he has played 30 games for the Diamonds as back up to Stephen Robertson.

This is a strange signing for me, having seen our Lanarkshire rivals a few times in the last couple of seasons I was never that impressed by Robertson therefore concerned that Hollis couldn't oust him.

Having said that I heard that a number of clubs have been impressed by him, hopefully he will have something to contribute.

Hopefully he is only being signed as a back up but not for Michael Fraser, as the official site said, "Michael has had some offers from abroad which he is considering and should he decide to move on, then we’ll obviously have to go and get another goalkeeper."

Then they go and dangle the carrot that John Ruddy could return on loan once again, "John Ruddy has returned to his parent club, Everton, after an outstanding season. We have to wait and see what Everton are going to do but if he becomes available we would absolutely be interested in bringing him back here again on loan.”

Let's hope if we don't get Ruddy that Brown and Knox can come up with someone just as reliable.
