Two first half goals saw Motherwell coast to a comfortable win at St. Johnstone yesterday.

Motherwell continued their impressive run in Perth on Saturday on a ground where they haven't lost since 1998!

St. Johnstone started well and Darren Randolph did well to deny Cleveland Taylor twice in the opening minute, before Nick Blackman scored at the other end within a minute.

Blackman smashed a right footed 25 yarder high into the top right hand corner of Smith's net, after being set up by the industious work of Keith Lasley.

The shot was hit with the stiker's "wrong foot" but as he said after the game "It was with my weaker foot, and I didn't have the time on the ball to shift it on to my left foot, so I decided to hit it with my right."

He did get a chance on his good foot later on when he was clean through but he could only scuff the ball into the arms of Smith from close range. But that didn't hurt Well too much as they made it two just before the break.

Jamie Murphy left Mackay for dead before sending in a cross that was deflected into his own net by Kevin Rutkiewicz.

As has been the norm since Brown and Knox took over Motherwell suffocated the game and strolled comfortably to a two nil victory in a second half that won't live long in the memory.
