Cup semi final draw

If we can get past Dundee Utd in the Quarter Final replay we will take on either Brechin City or St. Johnstone.

The draw was made this afternoon and paired us and United with Brechin or St. Johnstone, which was no doubt the tie any of the teams wanted ensuring we avoided Celtic or Inverness.

It is easy to get carried away and start to look ahead and maybe all talk of the semi final should be banned and all the focus be put on beating Dundee Utd as without stating the obvious if we don’t do that there won’t be any semi final.

The venue for the semi final will also be a source of debate with Hampden being the most likely but this will see a smallish crowd rattling around the big stadium. Maybe the SFA need to look at taking this tie somewhere else.

On the subject of the quarter final replay, there now seems to be some debate over the date. The date clashes with an International week and we will certainly be missing Stephen Craigan, and United could be missing Dusan Pernis.

Surely this needs to be changed to the following week?
