Motherwell have been linked today with a move for former Manchester City winger Karl Moore, allegedly being in “pole position”

Reports are saying Motherwell are ahead of a couple of League One and Two sides for the signature of Luke Moore who is currently playing for Galway United in the League of Ireland.

He made the move to Manchester after a successful trial as a 16 year old, in 2004, and went on to be part of the City side who lost to Liverpool in the 2006 FA Youth Cup Final.

During season 2008-09 he was loaned out to Millwall for whom he played nine games before returning to Eastlands. He was finally released last summer without making a  first team appearance for City, and joined University Club Dublin, before signing up for Galway this season.

This season to date he has made seven appearances for Galway but has a clause in his deal that allows him to move across the Irish Seas if the chance comes along.

He has represented the Republic of Ireland at every age level from Under 15 right through to Under 21 where he made 4 appearances.

He is listed predominately as a winger and can fill in many other positions, this makes me think he sounds like an ideal replacement for the departing Steve Jones.
